Who we are
Mission
To serve with love and non-judgment, to inspire compassion and unity for all, to foster the best health and outcomes for our patrons and aid them in bidding farewell to all that which does not best serve them.
Vision
Yonway’s vision is a world where individuals from all walks of life are valued and respected as part of the unified whole where genuine compassion and collaboration are the cornerstones of all that we do. We envision a future where differences are celebrated as strengths, and where everyone is empowered to contribute their unique perspectives to create a more harmonious and prosperous global society. By nurturing an environment of mutual respect and understanding, we aspire to a world where cooperation and innovation thrive, leading to a brighter future for all.
Our Story
Founded in 2025, Yonway.org was created, by Colin Van Loon, in order to create a platform for serving those in need and providing a host of services and materials that aim to support our patrons growth, health, harmony and understanding.
How “Yonway” got its name was an interesting moment of inspiration where Colin was pondering the idea of Yin and Yang and contrasting that with the idea of a one source and unified universe. Feeling like something was left out of the symbolism that represented this “unity” concept, he was inspired to continue the words chosen for this symbol as “Yin, Yang, Yon.”
Sure, it rolled off the tongue, but he quickly wondered where this flash of inspiration came from, feeling as though it was a gift from outside himself… “Yon”… did it have any previous usage or has any language used this word or sound combination before?
Interestingly enough there were a few references.
Likely, one of the most well known in western culture is the Old English use of “yon” as in “yonder”, meaning something distant or mysterious.
Then there is the Korean and Chinese usage where it may be translated as “eternal”, okay, now we are getting somewhere Colin thought…
But what resonated the most was the usage in the Sanskrit language and Hindu traditions commonly using “yon” or “yoni” to mean womb or source!
That was it!
This idea of “source” was what solidified the name Yonway, in other words meaning “The way of the Source.” As Colin envisioned the core principles of this organization to always aim to align with the foundational universal principles of existence.
The circle encompassing the Yin Yang symbol in our logo is how Colin envisioned this Yon aspect to be symbolized; as the source that all creation, all polarities (such as yin/yang, male/female, light/dark, etc.) both stem from and unify into.
